  • Meetings in Baudikali Rural Municipality to expand LEADS NEPAL'S operations

    On April 1, 2024, LEADS Nepal held meetings with local representatives and community leaders in Nawalpur to plan new programs focused on mental health, caregiving support, and women’s reproductive health as part of its operational expansion.

  • MENTAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CAMPS IN BENI AND BAGLUNG

    On June 23, 2024, LEADS Nepal organized free Mental and Reproductive Health Camps at Beni Hospital, providing health services to 50 individuals with mental health issues and 80 individuals seeking reproductive care. The camp offered check-ups, counseling, and free medication.

  • Distribution of goats to families caring for individuals with disabilities and mental illness.

    On April 23, 2024, LEADS Nepal distributed Boer breed goats to 10 families in Sigana Lamichaur, Baglung Municipality, who are caring for individuals with disabilities and mental illness. The event also included training on ginger farming and the provision of plastic tunnels for vegetable farming.

  • Capacity Building Training on Gender and Social Inclusion in Galeshwor

    From May 30th to June 3rd, 2024, LEADS Nepal conducted a five-day Gender and Social Inclusion Training in Galeshwor, Myagdi. The training aimed to build the capacity of carer leaders and staff in promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainable community development

  • Ginger cultivation training for carers in training for carers in Baglung

    Empowering Farmers with Modern Agricultural Practices From April 10 to 11, 2024, LEADS Nepal, in collaboration with Carers Agricultural Cooperative Ltd. Baglung, conducted a two-day ginger cultivation training program in Baglung to equip farmers with techniques to enhance productivity and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

  • Launching of collective potato farming initiative to support carers income

    On December 6,2024, LEADS launched a collective potato farming initiative, distributing 2,000 kilograms of potato seeds to support carers of individuals with mental illnesses and marginalized communities in Myagdi, Baglung and Nawalpur to promote sustainable agriculture and income generation.

Bindu Devi Sharma

District Field Coordinator, Baglung

Bindu has been working with us for three years. She is responsible for providing overall leadership to the district programmes. The major duty includes facilitating and empowering Carers Cluster Committees, district carer association and district carers cooperative for effective leadership, management, and networking. Her role also includes monitoring and reporting, close coordination with local municipality bodies and government agencies.

Sumitra is a single mother with her 3 years old son. She has Intermediate level qualification in Management and She is from the local community. Her role involves orientation and raising awareness to local community in mental health and reproductive health issues, identifying local community groups, forming and facilitating Carers groups and work closely with Female Community Health Volunteers and municipality ward level.

Hom Bahadur Thapa

Cooperative Systems Coordinator, Baglung

Hom is highly experienced and expert in cooperative management, cooperative training and perfect in accounting software. After several years work experience with cooperative in Baglung, he has recently joined our LEADS team. He is based in Baglung office, but responsible to train Myagdi and Nawalpur cooperative staff. He will assist Nawalpur team in the process of registration of new carers cooperative in Nawalpur and fully support for further development.

Hom Bahadur Thapa

He will be trained in cooperative systems and accounting software. Shiva will maintain cooperative accounting system, field visits for cluster meetings, collect daily deposites, communicate all carers share holders and liaise with district government cooperative office.
